Arizona Chickens

On all the pictures I took, I had a 2-second exposure. So that picture of Chatterbox is REALLY funny, since I had it set for 2-seconds, and it was still that dark.

AND Chatterbox did not move for 2 seconds! (How do you do that at that age? Isn't it normally "on" or "off" like a fridge light?)

Brings a whole new meaning to "dust bath" doesn't it?

I gotta go outside. I hear thunder and stuff. I should check on the stupid chickens who don't go in the coop.

You are welcome!!!!! THANK YOU! It was fun and great to meet you both: well worth the drive. I am very glad "Eggy" has such a good home. I am also glad that Mikayla can find him a better name. Please thank her for asking about it, and tell her I'm sorry if I couldn't hear very well, I was in traffic! As I told her, he was called "Eagle" at first because he looked more like an eagle than a chicken, but it was too hard to say. So, the poor boy got called Eggy. He deserves a better name. He was our favorite roo, we couldn't keep him here, and we are SO happy he will be in a good place. He also loves watermelon.

ETA: At the risk of sounding like a complete neophyte, I forgot to tell you that he is still growing new feathers on his shanks and feet. When they come in they look like big pimples or accesses! I haven't had birds like that before, and it was a little surprising.

Crazy!!! I had to drive through it to get home from down town. Actually I had to get off of the freeway and park for about 15 minutes. All of a sudden a circle K appeared out of nowhere right next to where I was parked and about 10 minutes later we could see the Valero station across the street - LOL! I think when I was on the freeway I only could see the car in front of me because of their hazard lights! My car is filthy! It looks like I went 4 wheeling in the mud.

My entire yard is a muddy, filthy mess... just came in from hosing down the pool deck and getting the pool cleaner going. This could take days to clean up.... and it's still blowing dust out there. Worst dust storm I've seen in 24 years here....and I've seen a few!
