Arkansas folks speak up.........

I am glad to see this thread has gotten a ton of traffic since I last posted on it. I had actually forgotten about it until today! For anyone who didn't read all 200 pages.. I am from Mulberry. Dont really raise that many birds anymore, but still love those that I do have!

ETA: There is a poultry show coming in in Fayetteville November 7th at the Washington Co. Fairgrounds. You can print off the show catalog on: http://www.hotopa.com/

I have a question: I just got my hens Tuesday and I know that travle stresses then out. How long do you think it will be before they feel it is safe enough to lay again? I might be getting a little impatient and they seem to really be warming up to the place. I still wish one of them would go into the coop. Good things come in time I guess.

They have lost their eyes like those cave fish. They use echolocation instead of sight like a bat or dolphin.

they see in front well, but it's easy to sneak up on them from behind.

By the way yours will pobably star laying next week. Don't forget to give them access to oyster shell.

I am going to try to go. I've never been to one and my cousin lives in Tontitown so I could fit in a visit with her at the same time. Plus we love northern Arkansas in the fall

THEY DO?!?

Oh wait, you were kidding, oh well. I put some oyster shell out this morning and made sure there water was still clean. I made a step forward in our relationship by feeding them some white bread. They were some happy chickens.
