I have some BCMs and some "mystery" eggs in the bator. The mystery eggs are Easter Egger crosses, just don't know who the dads were for sure. I'm using them to test my incubator since I couldn't seem to get any to hatch last month. I'm trying the dry hatch method this time.

I have 107 in the bators and another 36 ready for the bators, and 53 coming in the mail! Thank goodness I am borrowing more bators.

How arkansawyers (this is my spelling of it), are hatching eggs now besides me? 30 in the bator.

I've got OEGB's in black and crele. Also some WF black Spanish that were given to me. Total about 45. My hatches are set up for chicks hatching every weekend.

I use a "version" of the dry method. I've got a BCM hen. Those are some of the prettiest eggs.

I have a question ?? How do you keep the first chick or 2 that hatches from wrecking the rest of the egg's after setting them in so carefully to hatch. I always have a few chicks that don't hatch out and I think it is due to the rough treatment of the other chicks "kicking them around like a pinball"
Anyone have any ideas??

Hey John I put my eggs in lockdown in the paper egg cartons or flats. Chicks just pop right out and seem to hatch better for me too, especially my mottled japs. Give it a try I told my girlfriend about it and she has done two hatches now with my eggs, first time had 14 out of 17 hatch and today had 12 out of 13 hatch she said that is the best hatches so far she has ever done. Give it a try I know you will like it.

I have 2 genesis loaded with an assortment of Welsummer, Mottled Jap, Serama, Cochin bantams, RI Bantams, Sizzles and some Barred Rock eggs from John Farmer which all are still developing yippeee! Oh and 7 turkey eggs also Narragansett x Midget White. Still looking for a Midget White tom anyone have a spare for sale? I sure miss mine.

Hey Roslyn do you put the egg's in the flats small end down or do you try and lay them sideways?

John, just put them in pointy side down. I still have some that just don't make it out, but at least they're not getting knocked around by boisterous siblings.

Thanks I thought that was probably what I needed to do , I am going to give it a shot and see if it helps.
