Crowing
I have a silkie rooster in a pen with a silkie hen, hoping to make babies. Except SOMEBODY isn't doing his job. 
He is about a year old and much slower in maturity than the others. He just recently started crowing about 3 weeks ago, and the others started months ago. He acts like he wants to mate with her, but then she runs away. Maybe he's not aggressive enough? Maybe he's not her type?
I tried artificial insemination without success. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? I've watched a ton of youtube videos, but I can't seem to get a lot of sperm from him. Any advice?
