ASAP HELP!!!!! SOS!!!!!

We have a live hatch. Now waiting on number 2. It looks like the egg has been pip. LOL Now I am checking every half hour. I had checked them and then my daughter looked in half hour later and yelled. Scared me half to death. LOL "Look, look". Yes I just did and nothing, but it looks like both eggs are pip. She said "no there is one out".

Happy Dance..... 8)

I wonder if the first one out will help the others Chick helping hatch FARMER CONNIE BYC.gif

It is playing peep a boo with me. It acts like it is going to come out then it will go back in. Waiting games I don't like LOL

Number 2 is out...

Had to help the next guy out. The hole was pecked a little on the small side. And he had started drying off to much, sticking to side of egg.

Now I have two more to go in this batch. I have another week before the next group starts to hatch. I have candled them not sure how many out of 8 will hatch... :( A few eggs I don't see anything, a few I see little ones and a few others I see bigger ones.

Okay I have two baby quail walking around.

QUESTION:
#2 has a curled toes, can I put the shoes on it like I do chicks to get them to straighten out?

Yes. I've done it for a quail. Be careful of your waterer. My quail chicks were suicidal and I even found one totally curled up in the quail waterer, drowned. It was rediculous. Put pebbles or something so they can just stick their beak in and not fall asleep in the water.

It just hatched.
It's toes should correct in a day or two.
I would leave it alone.

I put glass pebbles in my waters with the chicks I have hatched and just kept them in for the quails.

UPDATE:
Came home from the county fair tonight to fine #3 trying to hatch. So far I am 3 for 4. They had button quail there. I know what I want to hatch next... They are so tiny and quit. Sorry this is get so addictive :).

Next weekend I will be waiting to see how many out of 8 eggs to hatch. I know 2 or 3 will not hatch. The embryo in those are way smaller then the others, but no blood rings and really did not see movement.

Again I want to Thank everyone with your advice. It has helped a lot for a first time quail hatcherer.
