10 weeks ago I ordered 15 Black Australorps from Efowl who used Hoover's for my order. 14 of my 16 have a golden chest and black body, but 2 have a silver chest and a black body. Is this just a recessive gene?

Yes and no It sounds like you were shipped birchen (white and black) and brown red (red and black) birds. Black Australorps should be solid black. The white in the hackles is due to the dominant sex-linked silver allele. The red is due to the recessive sex-linked gold allele. . Females are either silver or gold.

The lacing on the breast feathers indicates she is birchen.

I am doubting that those are australorps. Patterns in australorps are EXTREMELY rare. I know a breeder who CREATED brown red australorps several years back, but he sold them off, and I haven't heard of them since. Getting patterned australorps from a hatchery has about nil percent chance of occurring.
