3 s a charm for Super chick...come on chickie!!

I'm hatching my cochin bantams in an egg carton and I turn them 5x's a day. I do not need to open the incubator...I can turn from the outside....basically they are tilted on an angle. This is a homemade incubator and has done the job very well! Today is lockdown day 18 and I will remove the egg turner and place the egg carton on the bottom....no more turning or opening the incubator until they hatch! I'm no professional by any means, this is just the method I chose to use.
Hmm whats your set up? Interesting!!
...BUT you know it doesnt hurt to open the bator to turn ..
.Brinsea even has a bator out with a cool down setting
They say you get a 3% better hatch letting them cool a little while b/c the thinking is Miss Broody get off to eat and drink each day..
Good luck on your hatch!!!
Will be satisfying to see those chicks and you made the bator yourself to hatch them!!.

So sorry.....did you find anything out about the shipping insurance?
YES! Sorry, I though I posted that here but I may not have - or it may have been lost in the 3080 posts, LOL! I received a check in the mail yesterday for the full amount including shipping. If there are any more eggs this season the original shipper is going to try to send some more eggs too. So we'll see. There are a couple eggs that are blue and very very thick so that I can't rally see anything at all. They will be the hardest to throw out :/

They don't explode that fast and usually they would smell before that as the gas builds in the shell .Iwould wait unitl day 10 myself in case.but thats me.
Ive had a lot stink and I think one ooze a long time ago  but none ever  blew up.Maybe im lucky LOL
Most I leave until day 21 and all until day 17  then take out the bad ones..but mine are ALL tan  and so cant tell a lot on many  early so to me better safe than sorry ... .
Since they will be the last eggs in the bator I think I WILL leave them actually. Hopefully it will be pretty obvious by day 18, LOL!
