Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

It looks like Hectic Valley Poultry in Qld, Sarah's Hobby Farm in Canberra, Scratch & Hatch Poultry in Sa and Rob's in NSW are also listing buff Sussex for sale.

It seems a few of them on eggsellent don't know the difference between a buff Sussex and a Quamby though, so you would want a photo of the roo or to see the roo in person before you bought eggs off any of them.
Interesting. I'll have to have a look into them.
Quality is super important to me. I did get buff Sussex out crosses last year and I still have 3 hens from that I'm planning to get rid of soon. They're probably part Quamby. Carry yellow skin and there was no way I'm breeding that into my line.

Good call, you definitely don't want Quamby in your blood lines.

The only good things about the Quamby's is that the boys are 4kg at 5 to 6 months old and some of the hens lay 90g+ eggs, but they have all the bad traits of Sussex mixed with all the bad traits of RIR with the bonus of being huge pigs when it comes to food, so the biggest pleasure that I ever got from them was the smile on my face when I got rid of them.

Damn, I just came in here to say hi but saw this post! I was intending to get a couple of quamby girls, but I think I'm going to have to do some hardcore research!
