I gave him a talking to about how many cases of salmonella come from battery farms and have you seen the conditions they live in etc... He could not get off the phone quick enough.
They just don't care do they...
It's sad because I think most of those food safe companies would love to help the health of those commercial hens but the eggs companies are such big powers that they buy every one out and can do what they want.
Hey guys just curious what sort of quality this dude is??

This is the fellow at work. Just wondered if he was a decent example if his breed or not.
Sorry appps not sure on quality but he is a very handsome bird.
I will say though that he doesn't look pure what ever he is. What breed do you know?

I have blue Australorp eggs in the incubator and I can't wait for them to hatch, but I didn't know Minorca's could come in so many colours. I'm googling them now, lol.

Thanks guys have been curious for a while since he is a source of free fertilized eggs :). Think ill keep waiting for something more fancy though.

How am I storing and looking after my quail eggs while they are waiting to be incubated?

Am I turning them etc?

I don't Turn mine Luke but i have enough eggs in usually 3 days to fill my bator. Have a look at http://www.brookfieldpoultryequipment.com/products.php?id=591 I use the cardboard quail cartons to stor my eggs and the plastic ones for selling eggs or posting eggs. Speaking of posting quail eggs. Sent my first lot to Tassie ever on Monday and they all made it ok so i am super chuffed.

Appps,
Your boy is a crossbreed. A leghorn's type is quite different. They also have a yellow beak and yellow legs. The comb on a Leghorn male is far larger and the females have combs that flop to one side.

Oh no! These guys are normally quite hard to get close to so hadn't noticed that.

Are you sure? Here is another pic from my phone that I think shows the legs better.

Edited to add yeah looking at this photo the legs look awful.

Okay so what is the absolutely easiest treatment I can tell my boss they need? He is not a chicken person more a they are egg producers person so need the keep it easy method.
