Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

The chickens seem to be coping and finding a cool spot under the house. The dogs appreciate the Bunnings clam shell pool and the chickens were curious about it. One more day of this heat wave left. Really hope to see an amazing air con deal over winter so we can have one installed for next year!! Baby chicks doing well - mum has found a cooler spot for them under the nesting boxes in the coop. Still can't believe that the Sussex sat for 2 and a half weeks on a couple of eggs and then one of my ISAs take over. The least likely to be broody, but she is being an amazing "mum" to the 2 baby wyandottes.

As Requested
They're going really well.
I've been keeping them in the laundry, it's pretty cool in there.
Won't be long before they outgrow their cage though.

Things cooled off around about six here. Plus it never got quite as hot as forecast, but it was still pretty miserable. The two heatwaves aside, it hasn't been a bad summer. When I get my AC I'll only use it during the heatwaves, or maybe for an hour when I come in for the day.

I've got a fat dark black Kelpie that's terrified of water, I feel bad for him on days like this. On the other hand you can't keep my younger red one out of the troughs.

Ps I've read all the books !
I've read them twice :D

Hay guys.
I am considering getting a second bator. But only want a small one that holds like 6-12 eggs under $100.
I have found this one http://www.petandgarden.com.au/48-egg-fully-automatic-poultry-incubator-clone.html.
Do any of you know some others?

Looks ok Lucas, just check their return/ replace policy. I have 2 of the larger JN48 's and both of the ' automatic ' egg turners packed it in. They had put the wrong voltage turners on them. I got a complete refund and 2 incubators. Have a look on the OO online shop.
You will also need to re calibrate the temp. Mine was 7 c out, made for a dismal first hatch.

Lord Stark, I hope you're here to remind us winter is coming!

Some of you may have seen this on the news yesterday. It's HOT!!

I have BYC on FB and they posted a photo of a Double laced Silver Barnevelder. They are absolutely gorgeous.

Gods are much kinder to us in Tassie weather is beautiful
Those birds are amazing!! I never knew you could have Silver Barnies.
Quote: It says it has a 12 month warranty which is OK I suppose.
Where can I look at the JN48's? They only have that model on that site.
Why does the link say 48-egg-fully-automatic when it's only a 6 egg??!!?
How do you recalibrate any bator? Should it say it in the user manual?

Quote: I shall.
Where are the JN48's? That site only has that one model.
Also why does the link say 48-egg-fully-automatic when it's only a 6 egg bator?!?!
How do recal any bator?? I want to recal my King Suro.
