I would go with pekins. Lovely friendly birds great nature. Not too bad an eggs size too. I like Wyandottes too but never had any myself.

My Leggies lay 72gram eggs.
And here we are waiting for the ground to dry up enough to harrow the hay paddocks. Early start , just loading the horses .
How long did it take your girls to build up the size?
