Here is my Provincial Champ named "La Marcus' Yankee Doodle" But we just call him Yankee. He's been in 4h for the last 2 years!:love

Oh snap! I don't think can do that. They're my 1st chicks! :/
I know, I know ... not an easy decision AT ALL. When that decision came to my wife and I, we knew the only ones willing to take the roo would be doing so for their own table. Since his fate was sealed, we felt (only our opinion!) that we owed it to him to do it ourselves. We raised him, we loved and cared for him, and if was to be so ... we felt we had to do it ourselves.

Do Aussie 3 day old chicks sometimes have a look that you can just tell they will be ornery ? Chicks arrived today and all safe and active. This little girl already seems to have an attitude. LOL She has a white face and is so cute. Do they lose the white breast etc as they grow?

My chickens have lovely, cute, expressive faces ... but ...

There ARE times when I look at them and see cold expressionless eyes ... like how Robert Shaw in 'Jaws' describes a shark's eyes ... dead eyes, like a doll's eyes

Promise not to tell my hens I said that!

Yes, your Aussies will become all black as they feather out. You will LOVE them, they each have unique personalities!
