I have heard of trap nests where the layer is trapped until you show up to see the type of egg and release her
BYC is to my rescue again, I found a thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/567357/the-trap-nesting-thread and post #2 and #3 looks like there would be no trauma to a hen. I would just need to make frequent trips to the nest box to release the hensI'm thinking that might traumatized her? I am so nervous about doing anything to prevent her laying.
Lynne, It amazes me you take them out of a crowded Brooder and turn them loose on a couple of acres and they stay in their tight little group for hours!looking great, love seeing babies out in the grass!
