Hello everyone. Enjoyed seeing your pics and all. So many really beautiful Aussies. Well, mine are beautiful to me although they are hatchery birds and at their ugly stage to boot. ( Fuzz coming off and quills showing.) Two have those funny squirrel tails that I personally find adorable. One has a different tail that is developing more slowly. Roo maybe? Moko (chick #1) has always been different than the other two. Moko has a larger comb and it is growing bent to one side slightly. Moko has always been the most friendly, the most dominant and the biggest fuzzy butt. This is reflective of when I had four Barr Rocks and the one that was a roo developed in this same manner. Hope Moko isn't a roo.![]()

Today was warm enough with no rain so for the first time my 3 wk 3 day old chicks had a field trip. They were intent on eating up as much grass as possible even though my DH has brought in a fresh sod plug for them every couple of days or so since they were a week old to place in their brooder box. They always go bonkers over it. Since the sun was shining I wanted my awesome threesome to catch some sun rays for some vitamin D intake. In the pic below Moko is out in front. Actually I was surprised that Moko was the last to leave the carrier when I opened the door. Usually the first to explore. But lately Mella (chick #2) or Peppa (chick #3) want to take charge. It is so interesting to watch chick TV.
I must tell you all that I am so happy with these chicks. They are very friendly and seem to look forward to my handling them most often. I was thrilled today when they all wanted to perch on me. Of course they were starting to get cold when the wind kicked up so ventured for the nearest heat source... me.Took them back to their fresh brooder box for food, water and another nap. Life is good! ~Dee~![]()
Moko is trying to get a closer look at me I think.![]()
