Really I do admire this one!

Kurt, you have a very beautiful girl here. Such a pretty face and nice shape. I definitely prefer the blacks with their green sheen to the blue or splash. In all your pics your birds look very healthy. Nice job! ~Dee~

From a lady who has awesome buff orps, that is a compliment, thanks.
Kurt
The depth and flowing lines of your Lorps is a joy to see. They positively glow with good health . What a treat to see every morning, and put to roost every night, knowing that they are all they should be.I love to look at really good birds, no matter what the breed. Thank you.

Dee,
That hen that you like is only 20 weeks old so too soon to tell how she will turn out. She is from my original Duane Urch Line that I have been breeding for 3 years. The other two pullets are from Tigercreek Line. I am still wrestling with taking the best of both lines and creating the Rattlesnake Ridge Line, time will tell. I have kept uniformity, but there is still things I need to improve on. Everybody seems to be against mixing lines, but I may try it next year to see if the best makes best. I do have some doubt.

Trust me......Throw out the pedigrees, and just breed those gorgeous birds. You have the phenotype nailed down, so why not ?

I appreciate the input on the little brown girl I got. I have been told that chocolate can be a recessive gene and I do know she is pure Australorp. That being said, I have no plans on breeding her although I may hatch the eggs she lays this week since I just got her yesterday and she was with a aussie male. I dont care if she is correct or not. I think she is adorable and has the most wonderful personality. You all have lovely birds. :)

I have been away for a while. It's been super busy the last two months here. Finally trying to settle down, but vacations are available only in a two week window coming up so ill be off and on. Regardless this is a picture of a cockerel from early spring. Tell me what you think. I don't like his comb, and his wings will start building up when I get him a good roost.
