Australorps breed Thread

How did I not know of this thread?! Australorps are my favorite breed.

I had to get rid of my flock before I moved, but I plan on getting some australorps from Sand Hill this coming spring.

Greetings, all!
I have been pondering getting some proper BAs for my flock. I have become convinced that long-term, they are the better investment than breeding hatchery mutts and then culling most all of them. (that said, I won't be spending a fortune! I don't have one!)
I understand that Hupp's are some fine birds, but I don't know who else might have some eggs or chicks to offer, come Spring, who might be a good source.
Can anyone make a recommendation for an SOP breeder here in the West? Not looking for show birds, but definitely want to be breeding actual Australorps.
Thanks in advance!

I have one Australorp and three of other breeds, bought as backyard layers north of Sydney, Australia.
OK, so I'm a little confused. Here we have a "for real" Australian Australorp but her back looks fairly flat, not unlike mine from Ideal. Not the long, slow U shape that I thought was the hallmark of a true Australorp. And POSSIBLY brown eyed, like mine?

Anyone able to straighten me out?

Also, FYI

I got two humongous Australorp eggs in the last 5 days and two of the 'expected' medium Large (or maybe large Medium?)

Came across this thread and have read with interest. I have one Australorp and three of other breeds, bought as backyard layers north of Sydney, Australia. She is friendly, greedy and bossy - thankfully she is kept in check by the calm, bold and non-aggressive RIR who is top chook. Here she is as 23 weeks old - three weeks ago. She just started laying.

Her beetle-green sheen is fantastic in full sunlight. So her name is Beetle.
