I've been hearing about other color Australorps. Can someone post some pictures. I would love to see them. I'm new to all this but my little BA is so sweet! ANd I like a diverse looking little flock so I'm wondering about other colors.

jdoane,
Go to my profile and look at my Australorp Breed pics and you will see blacks, blues, and splash Australorps at different stages of growth, hope this helps.
Dragon Lady is correct, master the blacks as per SOP because the blues and splashes are very hard to do right.

Cute pics. Enjoyed seeing your pretty pullet today. Look for an egg in about 3 weeks. You may have read that mine as well as Dan's BA's began laying at 20 weeks. The week or so leading up to the first egg mine were making nest formations on the coop floor in the pine shavings. Major clue.

Thanks for the clues to watch out for! I gave away a couple of Amerucana chicks to a friend, they are the same age as all my different pullets (BO, EE, Lav. Amerucana, and Cookie) and they started laying yesterday. I will be checking in all the good hiding places until I get my eggs!
