The unnecessary addition of Black isn't widely used in the US either-mostly only on BYC. The breed, as described in the APA Standard is known simply as Australorp.

This is Back Yard Chickens with Hundreds of thousands of members. It has created it's own language and a lot of members use abbreviations--especially those using phones and tablets to access the site. DH is Dear Husband for example.

This is a link to abbreviations used on BYC:

https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/397944/list-of-breed-abbreviations

I hope this helps!

It is best to remember these also:
P for pullet (less than a year old hen)
K for cockerel (less than a year old cock not rooster)
H for hen
C for cock (not the common used rooster)

And now we can all LOL and disregard the above even though they are the correct abbreviations.

Kurt

OOOO, OOOO!!! :frow. Just to further "clarify" things ;) I refer to them as Aussies

Oh, and BTW - there's an abr list??? OMG! :idunno

Keep us straight Bill. We tend to stray and the text generation has ruined us with abbreviations and made up language!
