Australorps breed Thread

I had a big problem with geese and with that roster. They fight him all day long when they go outside to eat grass.
As a matter of fact they fight all chickens and him.
They plucked him some feather from the tail.

But a few days ago I slaughtered them (geese).

You misunderstood my question ..
Maybe I worded it wrong

As he is very good at enforcing hid Roodom with his hens . We have other Roos but he pretty much keeps them away ...& hid hens stay with him

I was at Tsc today ...they had Australorps ..A young Man working there said they werent pure BA they were mixed with RIR & something else .
I dont know if he knew what he was talking about or not .
Or if he misunderstood the invoice they came in with ?

The Feed Stores often get them wrong.

Australorps have white skin. The Only red is the face, comb and wattles. IF the skin on the neck is red it may be crossed with a Turken.

The face turns red when the Hormones kick in for laying. For Pullets, the comb will stay a white color for 16 to 20 weeks or so and then seem to grow big and turn red seemingly over night. If a young one gets a red comb, it is almost always a Cockerel.

So no combs or waddles at all? Is that odd? Both of mine have small but very prominent combs and waddles

Not no combs or wattles but small and not pink by 16 weeks or so. Of course there are exceptions. Those are the ones that wind up crowing on you!
