?? Average Home Flock Size ????

Family of 4. I cook eggs for myself and my two children almost every morning.....so 4 eggs almost everyday. I have 5 hens that haven't started laying yet and 1 rooster. I'll probably get 3 more hens eventually. I don't want to have to buy eggs anymore.

we're a family of 7 on 5 acres in rural washington. We have 16 chickens currently. At least one is a roo and another is a "suspect."

Right now, they're all too young to lay

I must sit patiently and wait until they're old enough!

Just 2 of us on 5 acres. We have 9 pullets that are about 15 weeks old. Don't want to buy grocery store eggs once they start laying.

Family of 4 on 80 acres. 26 Rhode Island Reds and 5 Mallards. Think 2 of the RIR are cockerals but who knows? All are 3 1/2 weeks old. Have several folks waiting for layers.

"OMG!!!!!!!!!! We have 10 acres with 8 chickens, two dogs and four cats ..............now I see what everyone else has, I am definitely getting more chickens - the husband said 8 was enough - not!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!"
