baby duck with lots of problems

You are so welcome Patty. I think it is funny how she yells at the bottom of the stairs when you go inside the house. You have the best stories about her.

Thank you for sending the weather our way here in Central Oregon and Patti's way as well. It is gonna be a hot one here today and I am headed to the mountains for some hiking to stay cool.
Have fun on your hiking trip in the mountains. We live in Southern Indiana here and all we have is hills. Of course some of the hills are pretty steep.

Que Sera is bubbling with personality and I love sharing her with you all. I know she is a girl because her voice is so loud. You would not believe how loud she can be. She gets her point across that's for sure.

Thank you, after 4 days of temps 90 and above which is not NORMAL we are looking at temps back into the 70's lows in the 50's and we don't have air. This ain't been fun.
I'm glad your temps are getting back to normal there. I live in the Ohio River Valley and they say if you live here you can live anywhere. Our temps are usually described with the 3 h's. Hazy hot and humid.

Today is very unusual in the 70s and I'm enjoying it. I'm getting ready to take Que Sera outside. She will visit every mud puddle she can find.

it's hideous here in central Oregon.

Weeeeeee, Que Sera for a walk and she will play in every mud puddle getting that cute little white bird body of hers all dirty. She'll use her webs to make stomping sounds in them.

Awe, thank you Patty. I had fun. It was hot but gorgeous up there.

It is funny that little Que Sera is so loud. It is hard to believe that the little darling can be. She is so cute. I am glad you enjoy sharing her with us. I always look forward.

I have never been to Indiana. I think when I am retired I am going to visit more of the US.

I will try to get a picture of her today if I can, she's half Ancona and half khaki Campbell , she ended up being solid grey tho. She's my sweet girl, she's the only duck I can walk up to and pick up with no bribery involved.

I would love to see a pic of her. She knows you saved her life and she's bonded to you.

We got a new addition to the duck families. Ronda Runner hatched a baby yesterday. She only has 5 eggs so that is more manageable then what Thelma and Louise had. I have 2 people that want baby ducks so I hope she hatches them all. Her nesting box was in the corner of the front yard and every time the baby was out it would run threw the chain link fence to the yard next door when one of the other ducks would come to look at it. Que Sera went over to look at the baby and Rhonda Runner run her off real fast. We moved the nesting box, eggs, mother and baby to the back yard and put them in the baby pen. They will be a lot safer there. I fed and watered them this morning and she still only has the one baby. I couldn't tell if any of the eggs were piping yet but Ronda is still sitting on them. This reminds me I have to collect eggs today. I hope this is the last hatch of the season.

Que Sera actually interacted with the ducks yesterday. Thelma come up to her and did her head up and down and Que Sera did the same thing. I don't have any idea what that means but she was copying what Thelma did. Louise come up to her and Que Sera chased her. She was very brave to do that.

I had better collect eggs now before we get another broody and take Que Sera out for a while. I hope everyone has a nice day.

Congrats on the new baby.. and for getting them moved where they are safe. Nerve wracking when we have little ones.
Good news to hear Que Sera is starting to mingle some and being brave too. I see alot of head bobbing here too. lol

Thanks Patti it is nerve racking when you have little ones. I feel a lot better about them being in the baby pen. So far I only see the one baby.

Que Sera and I spent the whole day outside. She did some mingling again today. She ate watermelon for the first time. She loved that and I gave her frozen peas thawed out but she didn't care to much for them. Yoo Hoo come over and chased her and then she turned around and chased him. She's still not hanging out with them but their getting closer. I know they were glad when we come in this evening. Every time I get out of her sight she screams. I told her if she didn't shut up the ducks were going to duck tape her mouth shut. That didn't stop her one bit.

Got to fix supper here.
