They love their freedom and enjoy the time they spend outside the cage. I bet there is some days that you hope they won't go back in their cage so you get to hold and kiss them. When you retire and get your farm your going to have a lot of spoiled birds and animals.Thank you Patty. I think so too. I stare at them and go into squee overload every time. Yes, they do get excited. Soon as that door opens, they rocket out of there and start beeping, hopping, flying, mating and perching where they shouldn't. Luckily as dusk approaches they go into their cage to sleep. It's a big help to me so that I don't have to try and grab them in the dark to put them in. How I do that is I remember where they are sitting, shut out the light, let my eyes adjust and then pick one up. Once in my hand I turn the light on and kiss his or her's head and cheeks and put in the cage, shut the door and go for the next. They are so teeny and soft and warm. That is why I am always going on about other's birds and being able to handle them. Other than having to put mine up occasionally, I can't handle mine.
Some of the chickens are still working on getting their feathers back but don't look quite as naked. The ducks are still molting Opie looks pitiful I hope he finishes soon. I found a pic of him back in Dec of last year where he really looked good, feathers all intact. lol so there is still hope for the boy. When will Opie Opes stop molting? I know to bad you can't give them a little prozac to make them happy.Oh no. I don't like that either. Too bad there isn't a safe substance to slip in their water so they don't do that. Mine could use it too. It's like mine molt with each other's help.

Pink kink may work keep everyone feeling real happy. Julie that is what Sam is doing with Opie helping him molt. Although I haven't seen Sam get Opie in the last couple days. But the missing neck feather tells the tale.Oh no. I don't like that either. Too bad there isn't a safe substance to slip in their water so they don't do that. Mine could use it too.
