baby duck with lots of problems

Thank you Patty. I think so too. I stare at them and go into squee overload every time. Yes, they do get excited. Soon as that door opens, they rocket out of there and start beeping, hopping, flying, mating and perching where they shouldn't. Luckily as dusk approaches they go into their cage to sleep. It's a big help to me so that I don't have to try and grab them in the dark to put them in. How I do that is I remember where they are sitting, shut out the light, let my eyes adjust and then pick one up. Once in my hand I turn the light on and kiss his or her's head and cheeks and put in the cage, shut the door and go for the next. They are so teeny and soft and warm. That is why I am always going on about other's birds and being able to handle them. Other than having to put mine up occasionally, I can't handle mine.
They love their freedom and enjoy the time they spend outside the cage. I bet there is some days that you hope they won't go back in their cage so you get to hold and kiss them. When you retire and get your farm your going to have a lot of spoiled birds and animals.

When will Opie Opes stop molting? Are all your other webs and talons molting too?
Some of the chickens are still working on getting their feathers back but don't look quite as naked. The ducks are still molting Opie looks pitiful I hope he finishes soon. I found a pic of him back in Dec of last year where he really looked good, feathers all intact. lol so there is still hope for the boy.

Oh no. I don't like that either. Too bad there isn't a safe substance to slip in their water so they don't do that. Mine could use it too. It's like mine molt with each other's help.
I know to bad you can't give them a little prozac to make them happy.

Yes. I do!! How did you know, Patty?

I am so looking forward to that and finally having some birds to love and care for.

Pink kink may work keep everyone feeling real happy. Julie that is what Sam is doing with Opie helping him molt. Although I haven't seen Sam get Opie in the last couple days. But the missing neck feather tells the tale.

Poor little duck finches having to help each other molt, lol

Patty I don't like squabbles either nor anyone picking on another one especially if the one getting picked on is older and can't do much to protect themselves any more.

I've been gone so long you all probably forgot I existed! Sorry for being so absent lately. I've been super busy with stuff and I will make more time for my BYC family from now on I promise!
A quick update into my feathered babies lifes:
Introduced the new chicks to the big ones a few days ago, they seem big until they're next to my older girls! We had them in the coop all day yesterday while the big girls were outside to get them used to it, I think today we're putting them in overnight. I'm super nervous for my babies. Pictures to come soon, I got a new phone and I'm having trouble figuring it out and how to post pictures!
Dave and Lady are doing great still, they don't have an actual coop and in the winter they come inside overnight so we've brought in their kennel and Lady keeps trying to make a nest in it. Personally I don't mind, it just means i don't have to hunt for eggs!
The big chickens are all doing great as well, I've not seen anyhealth problems lately, my last scare was the limping but all seems to be going well and I'm excited for that.
Sorry again for being absent. I'll be better promise! And I'll figure out the picture thing soon
