baby duck with lots of problems

I know It will probably be years before I can get Runners then I'll be to old to have any.

Wow JR is that old bless his heart. My oldest roo is just over 6yrs. I hope he'll live that long. So he sleeps in a cage in the coop to keep him safe.

I think Jr. is that old he comes from our first silkies that we started with in 2002. We have a big cage in the coop and Jr. prefers to stay in there. The door is open he can come in and out if he wants to. He has a perch and his food and water in there and he likes the cage. I think Bubba picks on him and he prefers to stay in there where he feels safe.

Pardon the messy water bowl as you can see the ducklings have discovered it and I was throwing some hay down for them to sleep in and it was falling in the bowl. Miss Wonky in the front of the picture, in the back is Angry Bird and her "chicks" she doesn't seem too upset by them playing in the water. There are concrete blocks in the water so the babies can get out easily.

the black spot in the water is a duckling playing.
Playing duckling, Miss Wonky, Angry Bird, babies able to get out of the water easily. All of it so sweet and you've provided them all great living conditions. How did Angry Bird get her name?

Awe, Patti, you are more than fit enough for Runners. But honestly, are they a high strung duck birb?

I am glad, Patty, that JR has a safe place to sleep. And how is Jeffrey?

I know I keep looking at the clock thinking isn't it time for bed yet? I had 4 chickens already on the roost at 3pm today. They must be getting old.

Long nights just wish i could sleep through them. I didn't get my extra hr this morning did ya'll?
I got my extra hours sleep. The time change has got everybody off here even the ducks and the chickens.

Jeffery is a good name for the turtle. He's bigger than i expected, do you know if he's going to get any bigger than what he is now?
We didn't have many trick or treaters last night. We had more than usual, but I think the rain scared most off. Had a few hard core candy lovers while it was pouring.
The little chicks are still doing great, and the big girls seem to be okay too. I think they're still too small to spend a night outta the little cage we close them in at night, what ages do you all usually take that leap?
Dave and Lady are doing good still. Lady tries to hide her eggs under the bedding of their kennel so we can't find them, she's not too good at it though.
I don't know if Jeffery will get any bigger. We will have to ask Deb. I'm glad you got at least some trick or treaters we didn't get a single one.

Hubbie built a wall in the coop with a screen door to put the girls in the coop when they were little. They were about 3 months old before we openned the screen and let them be with the other chickens.

I'm glad Dave and Lady are doing good. My ducks like to hide the eggs too around here it's like a easter egg hunt everyday to find the eggs.I always make sure I don't have a duck missing if I do I have to find her sitting on a very good hidden nest somewhere in the yard.

This is so cute. Angry Bird is a chicken and did she sit on the eggs and hatch the ducks? Your ducks and chickens get along so well. Mine just ignore each other. Thanks for sharing this precious pic with us.
