just go over and knock on the door when the dog starts barking..my neighbor, who hates my guts..he never complained about my rooster..and he never shut up! he would crow at 3 in the morning sometimes. i dont think roosters are allowed here so i figured that if he is nice enough to not call about my noisy animals, i could at least cut him some slack on his dog..and his dog never shut up either! i would bet that the city would do more over a rooster than a barking dog any day.
supposedly the city has a pretty strict no barking policy.
other than not allowing roosters, im not sure what they have in place, other than maybe the same noise barking policy.\\, which once again i will state, the rooster keeps very amicable hours, 8:30am-7pm at most for crowing hours.
I was to lazy to walk over, so I called.
it will be war from here on out.
i just advised son that they rooster would likely be leaving us soon.
he is sad, but he also has told me about this same neighbor scolding him for playing in the neighborhood creek.
apparently, not only is she very inconsiderate, but also an " old biddy" too.
we are moving in a year or so, ill make it fun for the duration.
You have a "project motorbike" that someone complained about. Sounds like the bike might be on the loud side.
You have a rooster and ordinances say no roosters.
Do noise ordinances cover animals. I'm not talking about the ordinance saying no roosters. I'm talking about the noise ordinance that would say no lawnmowers during certain hours.
Your rooster sleeps late and doesn't crow until later in the morning and stops in the afternoon. You have a very exceptional rooster. My roosters will crow at all hours of the day including the middle of the night.
Yes, noise ordinances cover roosters, or they stretch them to cover them. I have a friend who was allowed, by covenant, to BREED chickens for her family's use, meaning you had to have a rooster for that purpose, and animal control came out several times over the neighbor complaining about the noise. She got rid of a spectacular rooster, the father of my blue Ameraucana, Charlotte, over that. I would fight something like that myself, but if you have restrictions over roosters, you dont have a leg to stand on, I think. Believe me, I HATE barking dogs and everyone's dogs here run loose all the time and are left out all night.
he crows some duringthe day, mostly when outof the coop.
like when i am home after 5pm, or on weekends.
he sleeps late, and goes to bed early, not even a year old yet, im sure it will get worse as he gets older.
and no actually, my project bike, is far quieter than my stock, and street legal bike that i ride to work most days.
BOTH bikes are still quieter than the dog owners old convertible with leaky exhaust.
the only ordinance ive found are 2, one about noise levels and certain times of day, and another specifically about barking dogs.
its not very clear on the cities website.. but i have been in contact with the animal services division, and they were very serious about coming to 'educate' the barking dog owner, and writinga violation if needed.
that was a while ago, i didnt pursue it at that point, because I was being nice, but after this mornings conversation with her, ive changed my mind about being nice.
yeah i guess, Idont care about the noise, until it wakes me.
Ive been keeping a log, it goes back to OCTOBER
where ive been awoken by dogbarking earlier than 7am, 5:30 for many mornings.
and as I said before, she has never said anything in the past about the rooster bothering her, if she ( or anyone else) had complained about it, the roo would already have been relocated.
im not sure why MissPrissy thinks im not a good neighbor, unless she is an extreme dog lover, or maybe a rooster hater?
