The neighbor reports you for the rooster. You report the neighbor for the dog.

This makes enemies out of neighbors. It adds fuel to a fire. It doesn't help anyone in the long run.

I have 9 roosters. I also have 3 dogs.

I also have great neighbors who love eggs and homemade bread and pie and cakes and anything I decide to prepare and send over.

Kill them with kindness and they will never complain about your rooster.

I moved into my farm nearly a year ago, Feb. 4th.

We were here a month when we were confronted by our neighbors who life beside us (no one on the other side) complaining right off the bat that they moved out to a rural area to get away from kids and animals.
We have had tons of problems with these, to the point that this summer they even called child services on us and made up lies about my kids being left to swim in the pool with no supervision. They have made the lives of numerous families in the neighborhood living hell and have made people move and sell their homes in the past. We have made it clear that we won't be going anywhere and I have continued to leave them homemade jams, breads, a christmas card, eggs, etc. in their mailbox.
I will drown them in jam

All the other neighbors love us and Thank us for coming into the neighborhood and standing up to the bully.
Rumor has it they want to sell. We'll see.

I have tried that, and this is what it has gotten me.

I havent reported the neighbor yet, nor havei threatenedto do so ( to her)

i have inquired about the city laws, and what they will do about it.
i did NOt giveher name or address.

this is the first time she has said anything negative about the roo, and the at least the second time i have spoken to her about the barking.

Good luck with that

hopefully our next house will be in the center of a bagrillian acres!

the oldbiddy has been here for 20 years probably, always seemed pretty nice to me, not so nice to the kids.

but it is obvious that she cares more about her dog than about me.

i call that inconsiderate.

It looks like the first stone has been cast by someone with legal problems of their own, and you call your neighbor bad??

yes I do. I call her Very iconsiderate, and a TERRIBLE bad neighbor.

if she complained about the rooster, id get rid of it ( shehasnt until today)

I have complained abouther dog at least 2times, she has done NOTHING to prevent the dog from waking me up at 5:30 am.

legality is NOT the issue here

did you even read the thread?

or are you just wanting to dogpile this morning?

Her dog is part of her family. You're not. How is that inconsiderate of her?

Dogs bark. Roosters crow. It's not illegal for her to have her dog, hint hint.

Do you think the dog is barking to go out to the bathroom that early in the morning or is it barking at something? Just curious.

she lets it out to goto the bathroom.

i understand that, but it is inconsiderate of her to let the animal bark, when she KNOWS its early an it wakes me up.

its is illegal for her to allow her dog to bark earlier than 7am, so says the city code.

Please calm down. No one is here to dogpile you.
We are only pointing out that you are not without fault in this situation, especially if it's illegal for you to have the rooster in the first place.

Perhaps there is more to this than you are letting on, but to me, having a neighbor with a barking dog that you have complained about twice doesn't make that neighbor a "TERRIBLE bad neighbor". Inconsiderate? Sure. I think you're being harsh and not such a great neighbor yourself.
If you have this much of a problem with her and know that she won't be moving then maybe you should.

so i fI didnt have a rooster then she would be a bad neighbor?

your logic is flawed.

i was unaware that she was bothered by the roo.

she was well aware that i was bothered by barking at 5:30am.

she has done nothing to prevent it, and today, she basically said she would do nothing about it.

so, PLEASE tell me why am I at fault for her allowing her dog to wake me up?
