Im beginning to see that, thanks to you all!
Only problem now is picking just one type...
Although I have to go inexpensive so that limits my selection, which is probably a good thing.![]()

They do breed frillbacks. Probably a mutation that has been preserved because people love the look. I'm no expert for sure - but I think it's similar to the 'frizzle' in chickens...is that the word 'frizzle'?I still want fantails, but that frilly one is awesome!
@biophiliac are you saying the frillback is a mutation that isn’t bred for, or can be bred for? Just a “mistake” type thing?
Edit I just googled more pics. Might have to edit my wish list![]()

I wonder if the same applies to pigeons?Yep frizzle. In chickens, we usually breed frizzle to smooth, only giving a portion of the offspring the frizzle feathers. Breeding 2 frizzles together *can* result in brittle feathers, if they receive the gene from each parent.
This was my recollection, just a bit hazy on the details.Yep frizzle. In chickens, we usually breed frizzle to smooth, only giving a portion of the offspring the frizzle feathers. Breeding 2 frizzles together *can* result in brittle feathers, if they receive the gene from each parent.
I think it might, not sure.I wonder if the same applies to pigeons?
