Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

I ended up with 8 chicks! Six are Trisha's Barnevelder's, and the other two are from her Cornevelder project.

Finally - after loosing my two breeding roo's over the winter to different tragedies - my young guys are getting down to business. I think they are filling out nicely. Fertility check has been done and I can finally start filling my back orders for eggs!

Question: Is this hen's lacing too light in color???

I am absolutely excited tonight. I told you all that I lost my one and only Barnevelder chick on Thursday. Well, tonight I candled my 9 barnevelder eggs that were in the mail for 5 days....4 of the 9 are developing!!! I wasn't expecting any since they were in the mail for so long....so I am pumped...now if I can just get them all to hatch!

End of Day 1 with my barnie eggs !!!!! Is it Day 21 yet ? at this point I would settle for Day 7, That is when I usually candle.

My Barnies started laying about three weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised with the colour. Just waiting for them to get a little bigger.
I also need to separate them so the eggs will be pure. My Marans are a little more agressive then my barnie cockeral. I let my sister
put for eggs under her broody hen. I can't wait!

Thanks. It's funny how they have those little feathers that stick out like they 'haven't brushed their hair'

Each have had a few, but none of my other breeds show that much...
