I call them checkered flags thats what the pattern reminds me of. Very pretty classic breed. About what age did yours begin to lay???Here is one of mine at about 16 weeks. You can still see a hint of her dark wash.View attachment 1220576
Aw i only have one barred rock as of right now but i just have a backyard flock but good to know. Once they get regular how many eggs do you get now from yours? They all started between 19 and 22 weeks. Down to 3 of my original 6, due to their insistence on not returning to the coop at night and getting picked off by predators. They still lay really well at 4 years of age.

They lay daily from early March, once the days are long enough, through October, when they start to molt.Aw i only have one barred rock as of right now but i just have a backyard flock but good to know. Once they get regular how many eggs do you get now from yours?
Mine have laid thru winter. 4 eggs per day from 5 hens in summer. They lay daily from early March, once the days are long enough, through October, when they start to molt.
