I honestly judge it by the brooder activity. If its chill all girls....insanity...boys. You also got to take into account that black sex links look a lot like BR chicks. I was told lighter in color means male and darker are usually female. I have 2 that are light grey and have a white chest and they are both hens. Either way I see it its best to wait until the saddle feathers are grown in or they start crowing. Thats when you know for sure. Just my thoughts
