Barred Rock thread!!

My Barred Rock girls started laying at 21-22 weeks. They are very large, friendly, and beautiful. The largest gal is 8.8 lbs at 10 months, and the rooster is over 12 lbs.

Good to know that they might not start laying until later. As we are getting our chicks next week - hopefully - I am hoping to start getting eggs by summer - but will understand if they don't start until fall.

Hi I just ordered 7 Barred Rock chicks all female that will hatch/ship April 11th. I got mine from Meyer hatchery in Ohio. I live in California. They will be express shipped. I put this pre order in at the end of January. I picked April to ship because it's warmer. Check out there website. if you want hens or female chicks order really soon because females go fast.
