Beautiful Fall Day in the Mtns Of Ga (PICS! LOTSA PICS, sorry Dialups)

What great pictures. All are so pretty I felt like I was at a buffet. I must of missed your orpingtons. Where are all the black, blues and splashes? I would love to see your Orp breeding pens.

I just noticed today that Suede has about finished his molt, so his hackles and sickle feathers are about grown all the way back in-I'll have to take some updated pics of my Suedenator tomorrow. Skye, on the other hand, is looking quite ragged from her molt so I'll spare her the embarrassment of having her picture taken, LOL.

OMGosh, those are beautiful birds. Gorgeous. Sweet Caroline, du, du, du good times never felt so good........... is that how it goes. She is giving you the serious stink eye to take her picture like that.

Beautiful pics! How lucky your girls are that they get to free-range. Mine have a nice run and that is where they have to stay due to prediators!

Cynthia!!! You chickens are soooo healthy looking!! Gorgeous!!! Very nice pictures!!!! Nifty...you are missing the boat on the calendar idea!!!!! There are sooooooo many awesome looking ...and photogenic!! chickens BYC members have...you could so easily sell a calendar!!!!

Kitty, we have every predator imaginable, but so far, no losses. We even had a fox den about 200 ft from the coop! I found chicken feathers at the mouth of the den, but thank goodness, not my chickens'!I have no idea why mine weren't taken. I guess I should credit my Hawkeye for taking such excellent care of the ladies when I was privileged to have him here. I know we've had hawk attack/attempts because I've seen that several times. We did put livestock fencing around just over 2 acres of the property so roaming dogs couldn't just pass through and grab a chicken for lunch on the way home. Obviously, something could dig under or climb over, but we've been fortunate so far.
Tx, I remember that song so well and I think of it when I call her my sweet Caroline. She is usually a beautiful girl and her feathers are growing back with a vengeance.

Oh, you want a picture of the girl you named, huh, beefster?

Hang on and let me see if there was one in there. Margaret runs off to parts unknown after she lays her egg for the day, so it's hard to catch her for a pic. To tide you over, here is an older one of her. I'll go see if I can snap an updated one.
