Behavior before laying

I have some breeds that should lay early. White Leghorns and RIR. Still nothing! All in good time I know. Patience! Bah!

I’m almost out of chick/grower feed. Should I switch them over to layer? I know you’re not supposed to until they’re actually laying but... I feel like it’s close enough?

I switched to layer a week before they started laying--when they were 17 and a half weeks old.

Yup - I will definitely get layer feed tomorrow and get them swapped over. I hope that's not why they haven't laid eggs...

It happened! And I knew which pullet it was because I saw her go into the nest box! It’s the cutest tiniest egg. She surely was loud and panicky. Looking for a place to go. Finally figured out how to get into the nest box and lay this cute egg. IM SO EXCITED!
