Bettywhite is a bully.

I have two chickens. Lucy and Bettywhite. Bettywhite seems to be bullying Lucy when I scatter the feed. The only thing I can think of is to immediately put Bettywhite into the area under the coop and close the door for about 15 minutes. I wonder if she will get the idea. Got any ideas?

Get more chickens, then the pecking order changes, then get more....

What exactly is she doing in terms of bullying behavior? Pecking, chasing, etc? Even just 2 chickens will have a pecking order and it's normal for the dominant bird to want to feed first. Unless there's actual injuries or the other bird isn't getting to eat at all, I don't know if I would separate them.

That's normal. I have 5 hens and the lowest ranking is always getting chased. So I spread the scratch over a wide distance. GC
