Interesting. Hopefully I can remember that.The reason for the light versus dark has to do with gender.He has a double dose, so two copies of the barring gene which makes his barring appear lighter and more defined. Females only carry one copy of the barring gene, so they are darker.
You see it all the time in Dominiques and Barred Rocks.
