This winter was the first in a while. I started putting mealworms out again hoping they come back.
They come back every day now!

Anyone seen any new birds lately? There was a snowy owl in NYC recently for the first time in many years.
View attachment 2511526 Winter storm Orlena is finally here- but I like the snow since it makes the bird stand out a little more against the landscape. In the pic is mostly juncos with a few white crowned sparrows.
Woah, a snowy owl? Wow! I love juncos and WC sparrows! What subspecies of juncos do you have?

Personally no, do you?

I saw some Hoary Redpolls and Common Mergansers recently. (the Hoary redpolls are from Sunday, The Mergansers are from January)

Those are beautiful birds!

I plan on birding in my yard in almost all my spare time, at least when I'm not submitting a checklist :p
I'm also hoping to hit some good birding places near me!

I don’t always participate in the count but I try to upload any good sightings I get in public spaces to the Audubon app.
I had a lone dove today. Definitely not an uncommon species but I don’t really recall ever seeing them around in the winter, they usually move to more open spaces.
