Have you had any hummingbirds yet? They've been here for a little over 2 weeks. Also, if that oriole frequents your yard you can slice an orange in half and stick it on the end of a branch or rig a little feeder for them and they'll eat it.
We just put the feeders out this weekend! I've seen a Calliope and a couple black-chinned hummers so far. I can't wait to see more!

Saw one yesterday! Pretty sure it was a Black-chinned. And another hummer (probably Calliope) up in the mountains a couple weeks ago!

Spotted this beach chicken over the weekend.

This is a great time of year around here for birdwatchers. Yesterday the woods were loaded with warblers and all kinds of other bright colorful birds. They're all nesting, singing, and defending their territory so a bit easier to see. I saw tons of orioles, tanagers, warblers, and flycatchers-most of whom I could ID but some I've never seen before. I saw a Great Crested Flycatcher for the first time and heard the Eastern Wood Pewees finally this spring with their distinctive whistle-back from the tropics. Oh, and I got a video of an oriole building a nest waaay up in the top of a sycamore tree!
