Here's a young Rose-breasted Grosbeak I saw yesterday.

Wow how did I miss this thread?!
I love birdwatching. Before I got into incubating, hatching and keeping a duck I was in love with just sitting outside all day watching the birds and feeding them out of my hands. What got me into it was when a hooded warbler started to build a nest right out of our window. It was amazing to see, and 6 babies hatched. I don’t get good photos but I still love to watch them.

I’ve recently seen a yellow male cardinal, which I believe is kind of a rarity, and some of my favorite birds are:
Blue jay
Stellers jay (but I’ve never been able to see one)
Cardinal
Eastern bluebird
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Cedar waxwings

Welcome, Corbdee! I have never seen a Hooded Warbler before, but I have seen Steller's Jays, maybe we could trade? ;)

That's amazing that you got to see such beautiful hooded warblers nesting outside your window! So lucky!
"Hoodies" are some of my favorites too, but we only get them briefly during migration.
