Black Australorp - First Eggs!

Had to share! Our 11 Black Australorps are 19 1/2 weeks old today and our Celia laid her first egg!!! It's small but I've read that can be quite normal at first. We are so excited! It's like Christmas :)

Congratulations! I know how you feel. I have three BAs, and two are laying now. It is still so exciting to find eggs!

The first egg was 17 grams, so small, but so beautiful. I blew out the shell to save it for a reason to smile. And it makes me smile whenever I see it. :)

That’s a wonderful idea!! I’m right there with you- it’s just so exciting, like finding a little present! I’m sure your third girl will lay soon. Don’t you just love BA’s? Mine are the sweetest and love to lay in my lap and my daughter’s lap.
