I have 5 BCM that are 3-4weeks old any tips on angles to photograph? One is HUGE compared to the others, two are tiny, all seem healthy.
This is the big one, angle probably isn't any good, but if anyone wants to venture a guess.
Here is the whole crew. You can see two of the other BCM are tiny by comparison, wasn't much size difference when I got them thursday before Memorial day.
Cute!
Try kneeling, moving in closer, and shooting at a straight across angle (not from above). Move in so we can see details.
Sometimes I like to make an easy little "studio" especially when tracking a lineage. If you put down a piece of washable cloth on a table near a well lit window, (I like to put two light towel covered boxes- one on each side so chicks can't run away and it will reflect light on the dark velvet fuzz.) A third box is put behind them under the cloth to remove backgrounds so the chick is the full subject. You should get some nice shots if you are very calm (don't let them get too nervous.).
A few days old pullet from the light-combed line.
A cockerel from the same line. Notice his comb is more prominent- stands taller and wider, even though he is just a few days old?
