I don't think that's true and the vet seems a little paranoid or too careful haha idk

But I suppose eating too many at once could be bad or smaller dogs could choke on them. And also being in the compost pile they may have broken up more/be older and more unsafe idk. I'd only give fresh ones.

But when it comes to food related things I usually just Google if it's safe for dogs haha
