These are some great pictures and awesome looking birds everyone! Plus the cute bonus of the adorable kids peeking in the oven window looking at cookies

Here is a picture of "June Carter" & "Johnny Depp" my beautiful Silver Sussex - I wish the pictures were a bit better - you can really see the pullet - almost hen pattern up close and how wonderful it looks on her back in the first picture. These are great birds who come running up to me to great every time I walk in their yard - can't wait for baby Silver Sussex!

Johnny Depp - still consider cockerel - now crowing and becoming more of a man

We do have a "Johnny Cash" but he didn't turn out the color or pattern he was suppose to be so I got a replacement, would anyone care to give an opinion on him - He is a great roo, All black (hence "Man in Black") with the Silver gene leaking in a bit on the neck, lightly on tail and wings. Here is a picture - Any thoughts?
Should I take him out of the breeding pen? He is by far the sweetest roo I have on the farm - he will be my pet for sure

I guess we will find out at Columbus which ones do the best, but we win the most with the SLWs followed by the blacks. We are getting out of the blues and keeping a pair or trio...maybe.... but our favorite of all would have to be the BLRWs..... ( i might get in trouble for posting this...LOL )

maybe one day other breeders will call them a true wyandotte instead of backyard fowl......

I love your SLW's!! They may be some of the best I have ever seen.

Thanks Walt..... I am sure we run into you at the shows. I think there are some breeders with better birds than ours.....just depends on what the judge of the day likes.

I will be judging at Columbus and just visiting in Shawnee. I would love to meet you and check out your birds if you are going to any of those shows.

Sure thing, but you will want to talk to Jerry, they are more his birds than mine..... I claim the kids...LOL We will have the featherauction.com shirts and hats on toting 3 kids, can't miss us. We are not positive about Shawnee....keep going back and forth on that one. It is such a long trip and we have to take the new baby. I did hear they will be closing the entries soon due to space. Anyone else hear anything?

Great birds everyone!
Here are my 2nd generation Black Orpingtons from my original breeders line.

The two Buff hens are from Dawn Suiter originally Don Chandler's LF Buffs. The head of the Buff hen behind them is one of my original Akers Buff hens. Granny to many of my flock. And a peak at my Wite cockerel
