My Rooster Buck was injured by a bobcat that somehow got in chicken coop but couldn't get out.
He's breathing through his mouth which he keeps opened , his eyes are closed and he won't open them, I tried to put water in his mouth but it makes his breathing gurgles. I think his neck may be hurt. What can I do for him?

I'm sorry to hear that your fella isn't doing so well.

Does he have open wounds?
Bleeding?

He is probably in shock.
Bring him indoors into a quiet warm spot.
Do not force water...if it....as little as one drop...goes down the wrong pipe he will aspirate and die.

I don't know where you are located. We would call Fish, Wildlife, Parks Dept. to deal with the bobcat. No matter your location, it's probably illegal to kill it, you might not be able to help it without injury to self.
As others have noted, if you manage to release it and it lives, it will return to your chicken coop.

Stay calm...if you don't have a vet or the money, to do so right now, start by taking a deep breath in and out. Calm yourself, you need to examine your rooster. Please know that you are going to do what you can for him. But it may not be enough. It's OK...

1. Are there any wounds bleeding? If yes, clean with peroxide or saline. Never use alcohol. Punctures are hard to treat, do your best.
2. Cover any wounds with Neosporin or spray with Vetricyn.
3. Wrap him in a clean towel to keep him warm tonight.
3. Place the rooster in a box or dog crate, in the house where he will feel protected.
4. He is in shock right now. Give him an hour or so to calm before trying to administer anything. He can aspirate if you try to give him liquids now.
5. Wait and observe. Hopefully he will open his eyes soon. He may not eat or drink till tomorrow. Offer him a tablespoon of meat or scrambled egg, diced grapes, cooked corn and or greens when you feed him tomorrow.
6. Keep the house quiet, but do talk in low tones to him.

He will have a good chance for survival if he makes it through the night.
Protect your hens. Hardware cloth and bolt all windows of the coop. Cover the pen with hardware cloth too. Bobcats will return, many times there are two that hunt together!
If you can take him to a Vet, do so.
God Bless, I will pray for your roo. :hugs
