Boogety, Boogety, Boogety, Let's Burn the Racetrack, Boys!

Another dumb thing I used to do (man this thread has brought back memories!!) was race the Amtrack train to Parkton, NC. The road was beside the tracks. I used to go out and wait for the train to come thru, get about 20 cars past me and floor it. I'd race it down the road (speed limit was 55...mostly did 80), slam on brakes just enough to slide into a left turn, and hit the gas again to jump the tracks. It was an unmarked crossing back then....now it has crossing arms...probably a good thing.

Now I drag race kids who pull up next to me thinking they are gonna floor it and get in my lane...uh-uh.....doesn't work...I leave 'em in the dust. I love my Orangie!

Train tracks... Better not even get in to that....We are close to Chattanooga.... Dukes of Hazzared lied... No matter how many times you try, bad things happen when you make big jumps....

I'm thinking if my brother read this thread, he'd be wondering if you were ever in the Air Force, Reb. He was a diesel/hydraulics mechanic responsible for the firetrucks on the flight line at several different bases. He was forever grumbling about what those (use your imagination) firemen had done to "his" trucks!

No, no dice. Air Force wanted me bad but I could not pass medical... My brother is actually a diesel mechanic at Kenworth of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I told him about it an got some odd looks but he never reported any damage to me. Kenworths are built tough apparently....
