Gosh a week or so ago one of my adult female mallards disappeared without a trace.
Today the other one squeezed out of a crack in the pen and is now nowhere to be found.
I found her and put her back in this afternoon but apparently she got loose again. This time she is nowhere around the house and I just put the others in their coop!
The others are pekin ducks. The mallards I understand are a more wild species and can fly where as my pekins can not fly and are very happy to stay at home.
Oh well, all white ducks for now.... Unless the 2 mallard girls surprise me by coming back home with a flock of their own
There are some wild mallards that live in the creek beside me. Maybe they went off to join them and find some boyfriends. Traders! I hope they are ok. But at least they had a great life with me for a year before their hormones kicked in.
