Brahma thread

hi guys i need a little clarification on the feed i give to my chickens.......now layer feed and grower feed which has more protein ?
secondly can i mix both to feed my chickens ?
thirdly can i add any protein like soya or fish to the layer or grower feed for them ?
i need urgent help i want to change their feed a little i used to feed them with grower feed
It really depends on what's available in your area. I use a layer feed that is 18% protein and has probiotics in it. I went with this option because I have ducks and chickens and wanted a lil higher protein content. It is actually same protein as my chick starter/grower. It also has no soy and extra Omega fatty acids. In my area it isn't much more than regular layer feed maybe a buck or so difference on 40lbs bag. It's Nature Wise by Nutena and called hearty hen. If they have it at your feed store you can check out the nutrient content. It's listed on tag right on bag.

Hope no one minds me posting this here....it is just so relevant to our lovely and intelligent Brahmas.

No kidding, this chicken has just entered the America's Got Talent competition. You really got to see this to believe it! LOL :) A Brahma of course! Theyve got brains them Brahmas......

Enjoy :lau:lau:lau:lau :clap

OMG, thanks for posting!!!! I LOVE that! It was funny when Mel B said; "What's that? A chicken!" lol! Yup a chicken! I even love when she started to clean herself... She was like; "I have to look pretty for my show!"

I just recently got some Light Brahma's would anyone be able to help my genderfy them? They are 5-6 weeks old. I have two more that are around 2-3 weeks old but those's are still really little.
Top Left corner, they are in with 2 Guinea Keets, 4 Bantam chicken peeps and 1 Turkey poult that's showing signs of being a Jake at only 2 weeks old

They both look like cockerels

This was my first ever Brahma cross, i believe she had cochin in her. We sadly lost her at the end of Feb due to Sour crop and catching it to late. It hit my family and I hard as well as one of our other chickens who was her "twin" sister so to say, you could not get those two separated.

The four little ones I own now are getting bigger every day. But one thing I have noticed is 3/4 have star combs and 1 has the pea comb. I am guessing the other 3 are a mix of some sort.
