Are Brahma's a typically broody breed? I have a dark that is just over a year and is REFUSING to be broken. Is it just her or all Brahmas??

They tend to go broody often. I've got a broody still trying to set since early april. I think I'll just let her set though.

I have nine broodies right now, six of them Brahmas. Do you have any fertile eggs? I will give them each one or two eggs out of my incubator. That way they don't stay broody as long. I let them hatch and keep the chicks for a few days before taking the chicks away, mainly to save their lives from our resident hawk. It breaks the broodies and I get more room in the incubator!

I have two non-Brahma hens that stay broody, even if they raise their own chicks. My serama will raise a chick for about two weeks, then abandon it and go back to being broody. I also have a banty that as soon as she is finished with her babies, she goes back to her nest and starts all over again.

I've been playing around with various colors. What do you think? The chicks in the top pictures are solid white except for a black spot on the back of the closer one. The bottom picture is a blue.

I take the whites are splash out of of your blue breeding pen ?

The whites were actually an accidental breeding from a black hen and my light roo.

oh man.. well, I do have 3 eggs that are supposed to go into lockdown on Friday so if she is still persistent tomorrow I will give them to her

I would liked some light Brahma hAtching eggs from quality light Brahmas with lots of leg feather s any one have some?
