This white brahma in thé center... What is she reccessive white/silver? I bought her as à chick. I thought she was à Buff Laced. When i asked thé breeder about her, hé told me she was very rare and to KEEP her. What could i do with her?? Shes very pretty. Thanks Michael

She is a blue light, or a blue phase silver columbian.
Is that Blue or Self'-blue (aka Lavender)??? Wasn't Dan working on something like that? Like the Coronation Sussex.

The breeder should know.

That's a good question, I just assumed it was a blue light. Looks just like the ones I have.

A test breeding to a Standard Light Brahma would differentiate.

If "blue", 1/2 the chick would hatch with blue markings.

If "Self-blue" all the chicks would have the normal black markings, but then if a son is bred back to her 1/2 the offspring would have the light blue markings.

True, wouldn't have to be a light to test breed it, any bird with black would work. But why produce mutts.

In my experience, crossing a columbian patterned bird with a single laced patterned bird produces young that will more closely resemble the columbian pattern, with some extra specks of color, possibly partial lacing into the bib on the males. Not real pretty in either case. Usually took 3 to 4 generations of big hatches to get a few with the right pattern back again.

I did à little research into thé blue light brahma. It looks like It is am established color thats breeds true no?
I only saw 1 Ebay listing for eggs amd i believe It was in the UK.

Im interested in finding Someone who has this same color.
