Hard to say how good she is since she is in major need of conditioning. Head width looks good; nice "beetle brow." Needs more leg feathering down that middle toe. Tail is carried a bit too high. She doesn't appear to be SQ to me but yet BQ. She looks like she will have to much smutty coloring when she is feathered all the way in. That's a good thing though if you breed her. Will you take a picture of her back to show us her overall width? A rear view would be nice also. I like her comb as sometimes oea combs can get pretty ratty looking or just appear non existent. Overall she looks like a good finding. If she was with the roosters when you bought her I would incubate any eggs she lays within the next two weeks. She may not lay as she is probably stressed but you never know.

I will get better pictures tomorrow once she feels better. She got a bath and isn't thrilled

Her tail might look high because it's being pressed against the cage, it's a bit small for her but it's all I have right now. My other bird in quarantine is in my larger cage. Her foot and leg feathering is all destroyed and pullet out from the mud but it looks like it will feather in a lot better. I will get some shots tomorrow of her width and stance, and then post some pictures once she is back in good condition. I don't know anything about brahmas, I just thought she was pretty and she needed a home. I love learning about new breeds though, I already have silkies, ameraucanas, a frizzle, and a polish so she's just adding to the funny farm

I am huge into showing too so I would love it if I could bring her along with the rest of the gang.

I got 8 st run LB from TSC this year. And go figure there all hens. I know, I know there not breeder birds, but was wondering something. If I was to get 2 breeder roos in time can I breed good birds. Or no!

It would take many years, LOTS of feed, LOTS of culling, and a TON of knowledge, AND you might never get there. You would be better off, in the long run, to invest in high quality birds first rattle out of the box. You would be time and money, way ahead to buy GOOD birds. IMHO

I'm looking to improve fertility in my Darks and wondering if outcrossing to one of the other varieties might be the way to go...I assumed lights would be easiest but would be interested in what the experts think...also need to work on size in one of my lines. If i do this cross I'd be looking for exhibition quality only so would be interested in hatching eggs, chicks or started birds if anyone has some available. Thanks

any thought? She is definitely in ROUGH shape, she has a lot of feathers missing and has small pins everywhere so I am hoping she will turn out nice after some major conditioning.

I have three roos and five hens in one line and then I have a pair and a trio in my other line. Maybe i should remove a roo...?

It's possible, too many evenly matched roosters, competing for limited hens, are keeping each other from physically completing the transaction, with regularity. If that is the issue, reducing the competition would help. I have also heard of rotating males, which can have a motivational effect on older males, if that might be an issue.

she will be a beauty when she is feathered again! tho I can't speak for how good she is SOP wise
