You know how people are always complaining that a lot of Buff bantam females look "poofy" in the cushion areas like cochins? Well that bird has an outstanding top-line. Everyone get out your standard and read the female description and then look at that female. In my opinion that is an ideal top-line. Her tail is SLIGHTLY peaked....thats it! How is her primary color? Excellent head too. I wish you could post these photos on SBB so those hard heads could see. I'd like Jimmy to see her.

Agreed, classic "Brahma tilt" on her top line. Great wide head, and the gracefull arched neck coming out the back of the skull, as opposed to the knob on top of a stick look of lesser birds.

And for an earlier post - My dark pullets came from Privett - all healthy, all pullets, started out in a variety of light to dark gray/brown coloration but have ended up pretty much the same. Sold 6 to the neighbor for layers/dinner due to toe feathering (or lack there of), now just waiting to see. Looking forward to next month or the month after to get real show stock shipped in. Too hot right now, would just end up with hard boiled eggs or fried chicken.

Here is a better pic of my Partridge brahma roo that had the questionable VH's. I am certainly not an expert but, I am pretty sure no VH

He is 7 months old

Good news: Hocks show no visible vulture hocks. So we know he does not have two copies of VH.

Not so good news: I would be concerned with his primary wing feathers. Doesn't look like they fold up like you would like to see. Could be he is replacing primaries, but I would keep an eye on it.

Thanks! I will keep a watch. They both kind of still look a little awkward and I know brahmas are much slower to mature than other chickens.

I found on another forum that Dee Mejstrick and Janice Seyler both deal with these and I found Janice on here and pm'd her about what she thinks.
